Thirty-five year old Slytherin, Caradoc was raised to question everything, which seems like a sadistic thing to do to a child in the wizarding world. He developed an interest in magical objects through history - the collection he maintains at Caledfwlch is one of the best in the world - which gave him an excuse, as he became more involved with the Order, to be frequently out of town and unavailable. He's cultivated a mystique in the wealthy circles he can travel, selectively attending the events he's invited to - not so few the invitations stop coming, but not so many that he's no longer a "big get" for an occasion. He fosters these social connections, deliberately tenuous, to gain access to information and the homes of Britain's best legends in their own minds, but he tends to clash with less ruthlessly murderous members of the Order on the appropriate things that should be done with it. Suffice to say he is not a proponent of reactive strategy. He expects the Dearborn line to die with him when he almost inevitably gets himself killed, and is more sanguine about it than is really considered socially acceptable for purists in their tiny, sad gene pool. |
